STARLING HYPOTHESIS
*Starling hypothesis:
→Starling hypothesis proposed by Ernst Starling in 1896.
→This hypothesis explains, the mechanism of fluid exchange; between capillaries and tissue.
→At the atrial capillaries; blood pressure is greater than osmotic pressure.
Blood pressure > Osmotic pressure
→This causes, the fluid that inside the capillaries to flow into the interstitial fluid.
→At the same time, the capillaries send; water, oxygen and dissolved nutrients to the tissue.
→At the venous end of the capillaries; blood pressure is lesser than osmotic pressure.
Blood pressure < Osmotic pressure
→This causes to return the interstitial fluid, back to the capilllaries.
→At the same time; water, CO2 and dissolved metabolic wastes of the tissue, return back to the capillaries.
