PLASMODIUM LIFE CYCLE

*Plasmodium life cycle

→Plasmodium vivax causes the disease of malaria.

→The life cycle of plasmodium occurs between human and Anopheles female mosquito.

Sexual reproduction occurs within the intestine of mosquito.

Asexual reproduction occurs within the liver and red blood cells of human.

→When a mosquito bites a human, the sporozoite penetrates into the human's bloodstream.

→Then, it enters into the liver cells.

Within the liver cells: it reproduces asexually and then, it transforms into a schizont.

→After that, it enters into the red blood cells.

Within the red blood cells: it reproduces asexually and then, it transforms into a merozoite.

→After that, the red blood cells rupture.

Within the bloodstream: some merozoites transform into micro gametocyte and some of them transform into
    macro gametocyte.

→When another a mosquito bites a human, the gametocytes enter into the intestine of mosquito.

→Then, the micro gametocytes transform into male gametes and the macro gametocytes transform into
    female gametes.

→After that, fertilization occurs.

→The male and female gametes fuse and thus, zygote forms.

Finally, the zygote undergoes meiosis and thus, sporozoites form.
