PLASMODIUM LIFE CYCLE
*Plasmodium life cycle
→Plasmodium vivax causes the disease of malaria.
→The life cycle of plasmodium occurs between human and Anopheles female mosquito.
→Sexual reproduction occurs within the intestine of mosquito.
→Asexual reproduction occurs within the liver and red blood cells of human.
→When a mosquito bites a human, the sporozoite penetrates into the human's bloodstream.
→Then, it enters into the liver cells.
→Within the liver cells: it reproduces asexually and then, it transforms into a schizont.
→After that, it enters into the red blood cells.
→Within the red blood cells: it reproduces asexually and then, it transforms into a merozoite.
→After that, the red blood cells rupture.
→Within the bloodstream: some merozoites transform into micro gametocyte and some of them transform into
macro gametocyte.
→When another a mosquito bites a human, the gametocytes enter into the intestine of mosquito.
→Then, the micro gametocytes transform into male gametes and the macro gametocytes transform into
female gametes.
→After that, fertilization occurs.
→The male and female gametes fuse and thus, zygote forms.
→Finally, the zygote undergoes meiosis and thus, sporozoites form.
